Michael is a filmmaker and novelist. His brand is Wild High Stakes Adventures. His stories blend humor and heart into action and mystery, with fun voicey characters set against impossible odds and complex villains.
He aims for the broadest possible audience and the highest entertainment value,
with an emphasis on sci-fi, adventure,
and sometimes genre-bending.
He was raised by a large raucous family,
and survived a shockingly bruising (but not altogether unfun) cadre of violently delinquent Boy Scouts to become an Eagle Scout. He's great at fight scenes and resolutions.
Wrote and directed a micro-budget sci-fi comedy action feature film, ALIEN THEORY, which was shot with an ensemble cast in 40 locations across 3 states on a budget of just $25K. (Winner Best Director BAFF, Best Feature GenCon).
Co-Directed with wife Elisabeth Meurer the short film WHISTLECATCHER, written by Oscar-winner David Rabinowitz (BLACKKKLANSMAN).
Developed projects with Bad Robot, 3Pas, and Banda Resa after winning a ScreenCraft competition.
Lives in Los Angeles, CA.
In their spare time, Michael and Elisabeth design custom habitats for cats.*
